A Time to Heal Cancer Care Program provides massages to those living with cancer. Each cancer care massage session is from 45 to 55 minutes in length.
A Time to Heal Cancer Care Program is Hawaii's first business that specializes in cancer care massages. We are proud to offer these services at little or no cost to individuals that live with cancer.
We are proud to announce our expansion to Kapiolani Hospital.
To date, we have provided more than 500 cancer care massage sessions.
According to the American Cancer Society’s 2004 statistics, there are over 5,400 newly diagnosed cases of cancer in the state of Hawaii each year. Some other states have formalized massage programs specifically for cancer patients at major hospitals, such as Memorial Sloan-Kettering (New York), Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (New Hampshire) and Stanford University Hospital (California). Studies in medical journals have shown that cancer patients feel more relaxed and experience less pain and/or anxiety after receiving massage or touch therapy. Massage has also helped reduce nausea during chemotherapy.
